I really like the softness in the background and the angle of the image. Now, I need to decide if the image would look better with a white, or black mat (for a future competition). Your feedback is appreciated!
Off The Track is a series of blog posts regarding the old, vintage, steam trains and locomotives. My love for capturing the railroad occurred when riding the Durango/Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad's Photographer's Special. Ever since, I have made it a goal to photograph steam railroads throughout the United States. Will I make it to each and every one of them? Only time will tell! Hi Cindy. Nice shot! You know me, I like a double mat. If you're going with a single mat, picking between black or white, I think I would go with black. Since the photo is so "soft" I think black would create a nice contrast. If you were to go with a double(if competition allows that), I think I would go with dark, almost black green on the top with an antique white beneath.

Thanks for the comments and your matting advice. I agree with a black mat, but it needs to be a single mat for LCC competition. I will probably frame it though:) I'll contact you!
