The Griest Building

I received surprising news this past friday from the editors of http://www.betterphoto.com/. This image that I captured of the Griest Building (Lancaster, PA) is a finalist in BP's photo contest for the month of January! Thank you Better Photo!
Do you remember as a child, visiting a city for the first time and looking up at all the huge skyscrapers and having that "wow" moment? Why not take a photo of that same "wow" moment, the next time you are in a city!

Dan's Challenge

On facebook today, noted photographer, Dan Creighton, issued a photo challenge to his blog readers. The challenge is to photograph a scene taken from inside your home, apt, etc that includes looking in, or out of a window/door, etc. (I hope looking out of a door is okay since that's what I ended up taking a shot of!) I looked out a few of my windows, but to me there wasn't a photo-challenge-worthy image. I found my location at the front entrance to the apartment building I reside in. I waited for a burst of wind before taking this shot. This image was taken of the neighbor's front porch during the blizzard of 2010.

The metadata was f/22 @ 1/3 seconds, ISO 100 and my camera mounted on my induro tripod.

Barn Scenic

With the recent snow storm I thought I would submit an image from last summer. This scenic was captured in Paradise Pennsylvania during a photo workshop given by Ed Heaton. I was, as usual, looking for different views and shot this barn during our stop at an Amish cemetary. The metadata was f/22 @ 1/15, ISO 100.
